Graduates gain:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Engineering (L3)

Entry Criteria:

  • You need to be 16 years or over (you may apply if you are 15 years old and have a MOE exemption)
  • New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Must have 1 of the following: NCEA Level 1 or 50% pass in G&H Training english and maths test
  • Class 1 drivers license or be able to get one

About This Programme

  • Gain knowledge of hand tools and workshop machinery
  • Gain practical skills and experience through workshop exercises and work experience
  • Learn about health and safety, brakes, steering and suspension, transmissions, cooling systems, clutches, cam belts, MIG welding, workshop engineering, automotive electrical and electronics
  • 41 weeks full time
  • Monday – Friday 8am – 3.30pm
  • Compulsory 10 days work experience once you have been assessed as ‘work ready’
  • A transport allowance may also be available
  • Available in Wellington only
