We are looking for a motivated team player to assist in busy times and cover staff leave for our carpentry and construction tutors. This position may suit a semi-retired person.
Your role would include teaching groups of young people theory and practical elements of the construction trades, using our resources. You will need to ensure all health and safety requirements are met, and may have to do some paperwork. Teaching may be in the classroom and/or workshop.
This position is casual and on-call. You will need to:
Ideally you will have knowledge of NZQA unit standards and assessment, although this is not essential as training will be given.
Our teams in Hamilton, Whangarei and Lower Hutt deliver a range of courses including carpentry courses for secondary school students, practical construction skills for 16 & 17 year olds, and pre-employment carpentry for people wanting to be a builder. In addition or Lower Hutt Branch also offer an Motor Industry Skills course for 16 and 17 year olds. Branches are supported by regional managers and Head Office (based in Napier).
