E-Learning Logon Troubleshooting

Logging on for the first time:
Before you Try to log on for the first time please ensure you have:

Windows XP or better - click to hide
To check what operating system you have:
Right click on my computer
On the General tab go to Properties
The first few lines of information under System will tell you what your operating system is.
If you do not have Windows XP or a more current Microsoft operating system you will not be able to access your e-learning lesson plans.

Internet Explorer 6.0 better - click to hide
To check what version of internet explorer you have:
From this page click on Help on the Menu Bar at the top of the page
Select About Internet Explorer
This will tell you what version of Internet Explorer you have.
If your version of Internet Explorer is earlier than 6.0 you will need to update it. You can click here to go to Microsoft's Internet Explorer download page.

Windows 7 connection instructions - click to hide
- In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
- On the Security tab, click Trusted sites
- Click Sites
- In the Add this Web site to this zone box, type www.ghtraining.co.nz
- click in the check box to clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
- Click Add, and then click OK (or close)
- Click OK
- When you click to log on you will need to Accept our ActiveX control. If you decline or don't accept this you will not be able to log on to E-learning!
Reactivate Active X - click to hide
On the Menu Bar at the top of the page click Tools and select Internet Options
Go to the Security tab:
Click Custom level
Look for ActiveX controls and plug-ins
    Tick Download signed ActiveX controls = Enabled
    Tick Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins = Enabled
    Tick Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting = Enabled
Scroll down the list a bit further to Scripting
    Tick Active scripting = Enabled
Click OK and then click YES to save the changes then click OK again.
You will need to close and re-open Internet Explorer
Go to www.ghtraining.co.nz and click on the login button at the top of the page

Other log on information
Sometimes when you update windows the ‘Remote Desktop Active X Control’ is disabled. Click here for instructions to enable this control.

Check with the librarian, staff member, or person who owns the computer that the computer meets the above requirements AND that they are happy for you to accept/change the ActiveX settings.

Download log on software
If you have followed the above instructions and are still unable to log on, please download the software below.
Click on any of the instructions with a line underneath to see a picture.
Click the winzip icon (on the left) to open the file download link, then click open
- Click in the e-learning zip folder and double click the e-learning.exe file.
If you get an unknown publisher message - click run
- Where is says 'computer name' type in www.ghtraining.co.nz and click connect
- You will need to enter your user name and password to log in
You can either download and run the programme each time you want to log in or you can save the .exe file onto your desktop and run the programme from there.
